NMPI set to launch its newest luxury sedan
Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. (NMPI) is all set to launch the latest addition to its vehicle line-up, the Nissan Teana. Previewed to the press last December 2006 during NMPI's media Christmas Party the Teana now stands as the new flagship model of the company.
Since its arrival NMPI's engineering department has ardently conducted stringent engineering testing to ensure the car's optimum performance on Philippine roads. NMPI has started its pre-selling campaign and those with an eye for quality and sophistication have certainly taken notice.
The Teana will be formally launched in the latter part of February. "We are ready to launch Nissan's newest luxury sedan to the market. We believe it is going to raise the bar on quality and luxury in this level of luxury cars," says NMPI Senior Manager for Market and Product Planning Department, Raymond Tribdino. "The response to initial inquiries has been very encouraging," Tribdino adds.
The Teana is built on the philosophy of real world technology, modern design and impeccable quality. Its elegant interior, stylish and attractive body proportions coupled with powerful and comfortable driving performance distinguish this luxury sedan from others in its class. Developed around the concept of "a luxury sedan for sophisticated drivers", the Teana is set to raise the standards for the M-class segment.
Expressing a new sense of luxury, the interior design of the car embodies themes of relaxation, warmth and ingenuity. The presence of wood in matte finish invokes a raw and solid appeal whilst the supple leather emanates opulence and luxury. With the adoption of the FF-L (Front engine, Front-wheel drive platform, Large) platform, the Teana provides spacious comfort for both the driver and the passenger, including one of the best-in-class knee room. Simple comforts perfect for the long country roads or the tight city streets.
Quality found in the interior of the vehicle translates directly to the power under the hood. Fitted with a 2.3-liter V6 engine, the Teana has been specifically developed to deliver a broad torque band in the practical speed range of everyday driving. This powerful engine delivers solid driving performance in all situations, from in-town driving to high-speed cruising. Coming from the lineage of the award winning VQ engine family, the Teana delivers power of 173 PS at 6,000 rpm and torque of 22.9 kg-m at 4,400 rpm. A large sedan that is remarkably easy to drive with a minimum turning radius of 5.3m and a hood design that readily enables the driver to see the outer edges of the car.
The ease of driving is backed up by Nissan's "Triple Safety" initiative, the Information safety through the Xenon headlights, Control safety through the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Impact safety through active head restraints, double pre-tensioner seat belt system and SRS curtain and side airbags. Some luxury sedans do not enjoy the reputation of a Japan built luxury vehicle, the Teana however is fully assembled at Nissan's high-tech plant in Kyushu, Japan, a mark of craftsmanship and quality.
Display units of the Teana will grace the showrooms of selected Metro Manila Nissan dealers including Nissan Westgate Alabang, Nissan Shaw Center Mandaluyong, Nissan Gallery Ortigas, Nissan Gallery Quezon Avenue, Nissan North EDSA and Mantrade Development Corporation. Along with provincial Nissan dealers including Nissan Southwoods, Nissan Cebu, Nissan Iloilo, Nissan Bacolod, Nissan Gallery Cagayan de Oro and Royce Motors Corporation.
