X-TRAIL made more extreme.
A Special Anniversary Promo for Extreme SUV.
It changed the rules on what a compact SUV should be: easy to drive; comfortable; quick; fuel efficient; with authentic off-road capabilities. And true to its worlwide reputation, the X-TRAIL immediately established itself as the "extreme SUV" braving deep floods, bad roads and the craziest driving habits. Since its launch thousands of owners and countless media reviews swear to its real-world on-road prowess and spectacular offroad capabilities.
Already having an iconic status in most markets where it is sold, the X-TRAIL won its share of awards in the Philippines: 2005 SUV Light of the Year in the 1st Car of the Year Awards; Best Compact SUV in C! Magazine's 10 Best Cars Search in 2004; 2005 Most Popular Compact SUV in the 2005 Automobile of the Year-People's Choice (AYPC); and the Automobile of the Year-People's Choice in 2005.
To celebrate the X-TRAIL's success in the Philippine market, Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. (NMPI) is offering starting August 7 a special package for the 4 x 4 variants, which makes Nissan's extreme SUV loaded with more features and offering one of the best value-for-money deals.
"Those who have not yet joined the X-TRAIL bandwagon now have the chance to own a 4 x 4 variant that boasts of a very high level of features. Of course, the X-TRAIL still retains the character that made the X-TRAIL the extreme SUV with real-world offroad capabilities. The good news is the new features come at no added cost to the customer," explained Neng Alfar, Product Planning Section Head at NMPI.
The special package for the X-TRAIL 4x4 includes ceiling-mounted DVD system with a 9.2-inch screen; body graphics; and back sensor. Bought and installed separately, the new additions cost at least P41,500.
Based on market surveys of compact SUV owners, one of the most sought after features in vehicles used for long distance travel is a DVD mobile entertainment system.
To further spice-up the X-TRAIL, Nissan dealers will offer a special price, covering a limited time period for all the X-TRAIL variants. The 250X now retails for P1,300,000 from P1,360,000, the 200X is now at P1,200,000 from P1,250,000 and the 2.0L 4x2 now sells at P1,100,000 or a P40,000 adjustment from normal retail price. "We want the X-TRAIL to be very special to would be X-TRAIL owners," say Mr. Dennis Chang… "With these fantastic gifts we know it will be!"
The X-TRAIL's claim to fame is still its realworld offroad performance, which is made possible by its enviable "All-Mode Four Wheel Drive," which is a fully electronic system that offers two-wheel drive, full-time four-wheel drive or Auto Mode.
In Auto Mode, the advanced engine and transmission management computer does the selection between front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive depending on terrain, speed and torque requirements, based on inputs from five (5) sensors in the vehicle, including one that reads vehicle angle.
In 4x4 mode, the "no-slip on start-ups" gives all four wheels with power each time the accelerator pedal is depressed. Instead of detecting wheel slip, the X-TRAIL disengages the 4 x 4 system only when 4 x 4 is not needed. This allows the X-TRAIL to take on treacherous offroad conditions without losing traction as all four wheels operate each time the accelerator is depressed.
Powering the X-TRAIL are the 2.0 and 2.5-liter QR series engines, capable of delivering 150PS and 180PS, respectively. Both are rev-happy and operate smoothly, perfectly complementing the X-TRAIL's 4 x4 system. Even with its sporty temperament, the X-TRAIL's engine line-up is fuel efficient.
"This Nissan X-TRAIL special package is a limited offer" says Mr. Chang. "We thus encourage everyone to check it out at your nearest Nissan dealer."(NMPI News Service)
