Nissan holds "Imagination Factory" design forum throughout Asia
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has begun imparting its culture of advanced automotive design through a series of design forums entitled the "Imagination Factory", a first for an automotive manufacturer. The design forums aspire to tell the story of how the company's designers derive inspiration from their living environment, personal values and vision to drive their design works.
Starting in Singapore last August 2006, "Imagination factory" has made its way to various countries in Asia, most recently Taiwan. Yulon Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. hosted the event at Eslite Bookstore in Taipei City, Taiwan, last May 23 to 27, 2007. The Taipei design forum included panel discussions between Nissan designers and local designers from various fields, and a workshop for design students. Yulon proudly houses one of Nissan's six design studios worldwide.
By the last quarter of the year the "Imagination Factory" will find its way to our shores through the joint efforts of Nissan Motors Philippines, Inc. and Universal Motors Corporation. It will showcase Nissan's design philosophy and the creative development process involved in designing a car. Revel in the beauty of the 350Z and the exquisite styling of the Murano, exemplary automotive designs that surpass a person's imagination and expectation.
The "Imagination Factory" explores new design frontiers through discussions between Nissan's designers and designers from various disciplines across the creative and design industries. It is also aimed at encouraging students who want to pursue a career in car or industrial design, as well as raise public interest in automotive design. The exhibition will be opened to the public to provide visitors with a sense and feel of Nissan's design studios.
