Nissan previews the Nissan Grand Livina and Frontier Navara at the 1st Philippine International Motor Show
Manila, Philippines (August 9, 2007) - The Nissan booth at the 1st Philippine International Motor Show will be graced by the two latest additions to the local line-up of Nissan vehicles.
Nissan Motor Philippines Inc. (NMPI) gives the public a sneak preview of the first variant from its new family of global cars, the Nissan Grand Livina. While Universal Motors Corporation (UMC) will unveil its newest breed of pick-up truck, the Frontier Navara.
These showcase vehicles are perfect representations of the Nissan brand with its bold and thoughtful designs mated to sheer engineering genius. Each vehicle caters to the sophisticated end of its particular market segment and are expected to be huge successes.
NISSAN FRONTIER NAVARA
Continuing the legacy of the Nissan Frontier is the Frontier Navara. As the foremost innovator in its class, the Navara is poised to set new levels of innovation in the pick-up market with its long roster of "firsts."
The incomparable performance of the YD25DDTi (Common Rail Turbo Intercooler Diesel) engine delivers an industry-leading 174hp and maximum torque of 403Nm. Featuring a computer-controlled 4WD system with Limited Slip Differential (LSD) the Navara provides "shift-on-the-fly" operation, enabling transfer from 2WD to 4WD with the simple twist of a dial, even without stopping.
The Navara is also the first pick-up to feature a 6-speed manual transmission in addition to the available 5-speed automatic gearbox.
Added strength from 8 cross-members provides superior stability-a feature yet to be matched by its competitors. The longer wheelbase results exceptional riding comfort and handling without compromising toughness expected from every pick-up truck. Durability is ensured for the long haul with the sturdier chassis frame and reinforced body panels.
NISSAN GRAND LIVINA
A luxurious 7-seater Multi-Purpose Vehicle, the Grand Livina is the first in a series of global cars designed by Nissan. It is called the active lifestyle vehicle for the new generation Filipino family.
Both compact and flexible, the Grand Livina is a true marriage of car comfort, van versatility and SUV spaciousness. Designed to perfectly fit the needs of the young and upcoming Filipino families, the Grand Livina redefines the standard for multi-purpose vehicles in terms of ride comfort, fuel economy and safety.
Powering the Grand Livina is Nissan's newest generation gasoline engine. The MR-18 is a 1.8-liter fuel-injected power plant capable of quick acceleration and yet delivering good fuel economy.
Nissan Motor Philippines will provide this public preview of the Grand Livina with actual sales expected to start by the late 3rd quarter of 2008. Its presence in the country will open up a whole new market for NMPI.
Countries that have launched the Grand Livina, mainly Indonesia and China have been very successful with its introduction.
Also on display are the Nissan Murano, Patrol, Frontier, X-TRAIL, Urvan and Teana. The diversity of these vehicles practically covers the important market segments.
Nissan's commitment to provide customers with an experience that exceeds their expectations has pushed it to deliver new products, improved systems and increased customer satisfaction.
Nissan continuously challenges itself to effectively and efficiently communicate the Nissan brand, provide exceptional and enthusiastic support to deliver outstanding customer service, by listening to, learning from and responding to the opinions and expectations of customers.
