NMPI Kicks Off Nissan Service Storm Package
The rainy days usually present a lot of challenges for motorists, especially for those who are driving older vehicles. During the wet season, heavy rains can make driving less safe, owing to lesser visibility and slippery roads. Hence, accidents are more common.
However, owners of Nissan vehicles have little to worry about during the coming rainy season, as Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. (NMPI) kicks off its Nissan Service Storm Package starting June 1, 2005.
Under the promo, which will run until September 30, 2005, NMPI offers through its selected authorized dealers a sensibly-priced package that will help make for worry-free driving. For only P899, Nissan owners get the following services: the application of the Nissan Magic Windshield Coating System; brake cleaning; tire wear evaluation; 29 point rainy day inspection.
"We believe that this promo package is the best way to make Nissan vehicles safer for road use, especially the older models. Those who avail of the promo will also get the chance to win raffle prizes courtesy of NMPI," explained Jon Gutierrez, NMPI Manager for Service and Customer Support.
The Magic Windshield Coating System (MWCS) is a Nissan Japan proprietary product. It is designed to improve drivers' visibility during heavy rains to prevent possible collisions or accidents. The MWCS applies a super-fluorine coating on the car's windshield that delivers an excellent water-repelling effect, giving a clear field of vision on rainy days.
One application of Magic Windshield Coating can last up to six months, or enough to last the whole rainy season, as compared to ordinary windshield applications.
For the brake cleaning component, the brake system of Nissan vehicles will be cleaned to make it more efficient during the rainy season. In the Philippines, vehicles are usually exposed to floods, which leads to the accumulation of dirt, which can reduce its braking efficiency. Muddy floodwaters makes it worse for vehicles, specifically if a vehicle is constantly driven in such conditions.
The tire is one of the most commonly neglected component of the vehicle. Since the tires are visible to the driver, it is usually assumed that there is no problem with it until a tire related problem occurs. Under the tire wear evaluation component, selected authorized dealers will assess the wear level of all four tires, and make recommendations if a tire rotation or change is in order. Worn out tires have lesser ability to resist slipping, and to disperse water, which can be dangerous when traveling at high speeds and during braking.
Based on NMPI's surveys, many vehicle owners hardly check the condition of their tires, and simply rely on the recommended tire change intervals.
"While many car owners are aware of the tire change intervals of their vehicles, many are not aware that driving habits and conditions where a vehicle is usually driven can accelerate tire wear way ahead of the tire rotation or change interval.
