Celebrating 25 years in the automotive industry
Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. (NMPI) celebrates its Silver Anniversary close to home and gives back to its neighbors through a succession of community programs. Efforts are inspired by Nissan's global vision of Enriching People's Lives.
The month long celebration began with a blood letting campaign in cooperation with the Philippine Red Cross. NMPI employees volunteered to do something amazing by giving the gift of blood last October 4, 2007. A highly successful campaign, over 60 employees were willing to donate blood to save lives. A "Medicine Donation" drive will be held in the communities around Nissan Technopark. The celebration will also kick-off of the "Christmas Donation Box", encouraging employees to donate whatever they can to the less fortunate. "These programs exemplify our global vision of Enriching People's Lives. Our passion for delivering utmost customer service extends beyond our showrooms, it reaches out to our neighbors and to those who most need it," says says Allen Chen President and CEO of NMPI.
Commemorating the years that have past, a photo exhibit was commissioned to bring back fond memories of the milestones and achievements of NMPI. A contest was also held to acquire the oldest photo from the employees. The winning entry was a picture of the first ever production unit of the Nissan Sentra captured last March 27, 1987. NMPI has come a long way from its beginnings in 1982. Despite the challenges over the years, the company has remained one of the automotive industry's major contenders.
As a treat, NMPI employees and their families relieved the magic of youth in the one of the country's premier theme parks at Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa Laguna. Allen Chen, President and CEO of NMPI began the festivities with a message of gratitude to all employees who have helped built a stronger Nissan brand in the country. He challenges everyone to shift their mind to a higher level as the company gears up for the exciting product launches in 2008.
The event also served as a launch pad for the new corporate song entitled "A whole new Nissan" an original composition of Lilibeth "Ibette" R. Mangulabnan of Service and Customer Support Department of NMPI. Encapsulating the goal of NMPI to deliver great products and excellent service, the song's lively and catchy tune fuels the spirit of the employees to be prouder, bolder and wiser. The song was accompanied by a spectacular dance number from the more youthful generation of NMPI employees, a fitting finale to the morning celebration. The rest of the day was spent being a kid a gain as the employees lost themselves in the wonder and magic of the park.
"The achievements of NMPI have been made possible by each and every employee that have at one point considered Nissan as their family. We all strive together to strengthen the Nissan brand, to work effectively in a competitive global industry and most importantly to satisfy our customers. I give my deepest gratitude for your motivated performance now and in the years to come, " say Allen Chen.
2008 holds many surprises for NMPI. Expect several product upgrades and model launches that will thrill and inspire. In the tradition of pursuing quality and excellence, we look forward to the next milestone in NMPI's history.
